oak leafWelcome to Rohnert Park Family Resource Center formerly the Sonoma County Adult and Youth Development or SCAYD

It is time to let the cat out of the proverbial bag! SCAYD has now completed a merger with the California Parenting Institute. Since May 2013, CPI and SCAYD have been working with a merger team to join our agencies. Under the merger agreement, SCAYD merged with and into CPI – with SCAYD closing and re-opening as the Rohnert Park Family Resource Center. We are excited to say though, we will continue to provide the much needed services in Rohnert Park/ Cotati region and we will call the site in Rohnert Park that is currently occupied by SCAYD the Rohnert Park Family Resource Center.

SCAYD was founded in 1982 by a group of community-dedicated citizens who wanted to ensure that support services for children, teens, and families would be accessible and available in Sonoma county. Built upon strong partnerships with city governments, the Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District and the Sonoma County Health and Human Services Departments, SCAYD is the Family Resource Center of Cotati-Rohnert Park and surrounding communities; our primary service area extends from Santa Rosa south to Penngrove and east and west of the Highway 101 corridor. SCAYD has long been a guiding light and active force within the community for the development of healthy youth and assistance for all individuals and families in need of a helping hand.

Our new mission is to end child abuse and strengthen the health of children, parents and families.

California Parenting Institute is in alignment with Sonoma County Upstream Investments and offers support services to families who are struggling with any of numerous socio-economic and/or mental health problems. Services include Counseling, Family Advocacy, Substance Abuse Prevention Services, Parent Education, Anger Management, Latino Outreach Services, as well as other support services.

We value our connection to the community we service and we are one of the primary hubs of the interdependent continuum of services in Sonoma County. All individuals and families are able to access and connect with resources and opportunities that promote healthy, sustainable lives and build a strong, thriving community.
